Franciacorta wines Elisabetta Abrami


This story began in 2006, when Elisabetta Abrami, after several years in the automotive industry, decided to bring a major change in her life. She wanted to create something that left an impact and a heritage in the land where she was born: Franciacorta. Starting from a scratch, at first only few hectares were acquired and the winery was still a dream still waiting to become true. After only three years, the first fruits of hard work blossomed, with the production of the very first 5000 bottles in the three varieties: Franciacorta Brut, Rosé, Satén.
The dream continued in the year, following the route of Pinot Noir. When Franciacorta DOCG Extra Brut Millesimato Blanc de Noir was newly created, at the same time the Franciacorta DOCG Rosé received the Golden Star from the Italian touring.
Not only passion for Pinot Noir, as 10 out of 15 hectares belong to this grape, but also to the nature. While planting some olives close to the vineyards, an idea came to Elisabetta: fully converting the grape cultivation and the wine production to bio-organic.
Nowadays our winery counts more than 10 Franciacorta wines: the magic of aging, sugars and the combination of Chardonnay and Pinot noir.

Our Terroir: Franciacorta
Abrami Elisabetta uses grapes grown in her proprietary vineyards, which are exclusively located in Franciacorta, in the municipalities of Paderno, Passirano and Provaglio d’Iseo. It is here that our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grow and mature. Franciacorta’s history is lasting since centuries: a sole word defining the territory, the method of production and the wine itself. The present geographic boundaries, included within Bergamo and Brescia, match the ones of the county of Viscontean age, taken and confirmed from the Serenissima Republic (Venice) in the XV century. In the XVI century this area is already known for its own vineyards, that benefit from the mild climate, specific of Iseo lake. The term Franciacorta recalls the Frank courts and, after the arrival of the Cluniacenses monks, the territory enjoyed the free trade (curate francae).
Nowadays Franciacorta is cultural and natural heritage, rich of charm and attractiveness. A territory to discover, to savour and to inhale.

Our Wines and the method
Franciacorta was the first Italian sparkling wine produced exclusively by the Classic Method. This means that a first fermentation takes place in steel tanks, and a second one, with the addition of selected yeasts, in the bottle. After this refinement phase, the bottles are disgorged and the liqueur d’expedition (syrup of wine and sugar) is added.
